Create Greeting Cards was the first Create business and it grew out of an entrepreneurial class at a community family center. The youth there loved learning about building businesses so I decided to launch a business with them over the course of a 4 week program. A Greeting Card business seemed like the perfect choice since they love art projects and I knew they would be excited to see their artwork in the finished products. I created a 4 session curriculum which taught them to create a basic business plan, set goals, brainstorm and create products, tally costs, set the pricing and then promote the products. They colored in pictures that I had printed on the front of the greeting cards. I then sold the cards and used 100% of profits to purchase educational art supplies for family centers.
